Since coming to America from her native Venice, Nelly has been teaching Italian to adults at all levels. She has taught at businesses, schools and language institutes, Parliamo Italiano at Hunter since 1995. Nelly creates a lively and inclusive atmosphere within a rigorous curriculum utilizing creative approaches to conversation and language acquisition.

She specializes in advanced classes based on readings of classical and modern novels chosen for teaching historical, artistic and cultural interest. Based on her wide background in Italian culture and history, she brings to the classes additional materials to widen and deepen the learner’s experience.
